In Short

I'm an Interaction Designer and graduate form the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design. I'm fascinated with the way modern technology such as machine learning, the internet of things or mixed reality has changed the way we move, live, learn and interact with each other.

Previously, I studied computer science and worked as a software engineer and project lead at the University of Bern Switzerland. There I helped developing, designing and directing a software system that revolutionized the way doctors evaluate the skills of medical students in practical exams. By applying human centred design to the process, the product quickly became popular among an international audience and it is now being used at universities in Switzerland, Australia and the UK. Since 2014 the system is used as the official tool in Switzerland to carry out the federal exams.

I am always interested in talking about new challenges and opportunities. Let's get in touch! Drop me a line at hello@sbhklr.com or reach out on LinkedIn.

On Design

The engine that drives this world are humans. At the heart of everything we do are our believes and the notion of who we are. I believe that we can achieve great things when we start to understand each other better. By designing for delight and surprise we can create wonderful interactions that make a difference.

Great designers care about people, their culture, their traditions, their hopes, their dreams and their concerns. Rather than designing for them we design with them. We have to ask ourselves if we're designing the right thing before we try to design the thing right. By observing, listening and spending time with the people in their surroundings we can develop the understanding and the empathy that we need to get it right.
